what year was it exactly that Ross stepped his pen game up? I honestly never used to fukk with his shyt when he first dropped in my personal time, only listened to his shyt when i went out...Anyway, son's pen game is immaculate, one of the best writers the south ever produced

Deeper than rap was when he became official. He showed flashes on Trilla

yea I kinda figured it was DTR...

Yeah port of miami aged terrible and is kinda unlistenable to me because how elementary rozay was on it. Trilla is when he began to experiment, DTR is when he found his God flow and Teflon Don is when he perfected it.

I think he leveled up twice in my opinion. Obviously the first time on DTR, and he was pretty insane from DTR to Rich Forever. Then he started doing a lot of trap, and the lyricism faded a bit (still better than 95% of rappers).

Then after that, he leveled up again on Mastermind imo. And tha was the birth of this new Ross we see. Which is honesty my favorite version.

(Mastermind, Black Dollar, Black Market, RYTM)

I'm loving this album so far.

Rozay started rapping about black empowerment around the time Farrakhan started to holla at all of the rappers a few yrs ago
