Rick Ross smooth/mafioso song appreciation thread

No he didnt. Yall overate the hell out of Biggies lyrical ability. Go listen to Ross on Pandemonium or Mafia Music 2. Biggie wasnt much nicer than that

I have every ross album,mixtape,group project etc and i'm a fan. I'm not overrating anything. Ross is good and his main attribute is being consistent. But biggie was also consistent and on a higher level. Both his albums dominated the time they had their runs and Biggie had much better and diverse flows than ross. Ross sounds good but it's typically same ole ross. He doesnt have the diversity of a big poppa,warning,fukkin you tonight,hypnotize,notorious thugs,mo money mo problems etc etc. And he failed with every cross over song he tried to have,super high,both usher songs etc ,biggie woulda prevailed.

I see all the music in the thread and like the majority of it,but it's the beats we're really lovin,ross parts are good but virtually the same on every track. If ross is the best he needs to step out front. Get outta drake,wayne, and others shadows.

Rick Ross makes "original" music, plus you can capture whats already been captured. Biggie just remade classic R&B songs and added rougher lyrics, so not only did the young people enjoy it, but so did their parents.

i say this all the time but if Ross hadn't been "exposed" right before Deeper Than Rap, he'd be considered one of the GOATs.

Ross' growth on Deeper Than Rap was the LARGEST evolution in an artists ability i've EVER seen.
