Damn. I really liked that early to mid 2000s era of boxing. It was lowkey “starting to die” so they say, but that era was my personal favorite. I used to go crazy w/ him and Jermaine Taylor on FNR3.
That era had good boxers in all weight classes and a lot of different styles. Probably the last time boxing was still 'great'.
Ay nah. Remember that Super Six shiit from back in the day?Damn RIP that era of boxing will always be my favorite

Boxing is not a good sport at the pro level
RIP
I'd figure less. MMA fights are usually stopped quicker than boxing and there's no eight count. If someone is obviously concussed in MMA, the ref calls it.I always wonder how much damage MMA fighters take to their brain because they catching fist, feet, knees, and elbows to the head.
Yeah but in those shorter rounds opponents are getting kneed and elbowed on top of their heads and directly on the forhead with no padding especially when ground and pound. One thing MMA has over boxing is that the matches are much shorter. You aren't taking blows to the head for 20-30 minutes relatively continuously like you can in boxing.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I was always under the impression MMA careers were shorter. Taking punches to the head isn’t good with gloves of any size but part of the reason I never respect MMA is that it just seem more like a meathead and more brutal sport than boxing. It would be interesting to have a comparison between the average boxer and MMA fighter on the number of punch they get on their head during their careers.
