I know I seem like I'm taking this way too serious lol, but I don't really think what Ross did was an Irish goodbye. Ross was on camera on a podcast where people were watching him. He made a professional commitment to be on the podcast.

This isn't like being out a bar with a bunch of people and just leaving without saying peace to anybody. That's the classic Irish goodbye and it's not what Ross did.

I'll leave it alone after this. It's not a big deal.

that sounds fine to me. It wasn't some internet podcast where you knew what you were signing up for, and more important you didn't lie to everyone and say you had to go the bathroom and never came back.

Irish goodbye is when you’re out somewhere w/ friends or a group, and instead of going through the motion of finding multiple people, explaining that you’re bout to leave, say goodbye etc etc, you just……. Quietly call your Uber and leave.

You can always text people after like yeahhhhh man I was too faded I had to dip out. But goodbyes can be annoying as hell just bust a move out and catch up with everyone tomorrow.

that’s not the same as what Ross did. I get that it’s ‘unprofessional’ or whatever… but really who cares? It sounds like some of yall care more than the 85 South guys did

They was clearly salty about the shyt, they were just being funny about it. DC even said he was lying about the flying private shyt.

And yeah, as a fan of 85 South, I was looking forward to this episode, only for it to end up like that

Ok sure he wasn’t forced, he did it to get promo for his album that ain’t doing well

but he probably got to the show and saw how childish it was and how it lacked structure and that he was on there with the ig comedy clowns and had to get outta there

But like...it's a well known comedy podcast that's not structured. That's kind of the whole point.

They're hanging out drinking. smoking, and joking around. That's the vibe and it's the appeal of the podcast.

The reason people watch and listen to 85 South is comedy podcast with a loose structure.

Ain’t gone be no backlash. I’m just a fan of the podcast and was disappointed in how this episode turned out, so I made a thread. My day isn’t ruined over this. Just having a discussion.

There won't be a backlash. It's not that big of a deal.

However, what @darealvelle is getting at is that this is a business where people don't forget things. This isn't a thing where he's gonna get criticized heavy for it. But it's the exact type of thing that someone will have in the back of their minds if Ross needs a favor one day. It's just straight up not a smart long-term business move to have people know that you're the type of person that will flake on a business commitment in an unprofessional way.

Ross has enough clout and not enough household name fame where this will bite him immediately. But life is long. When Ross' popularity keeps fading, when he's even older, when he maybe needs a hand one day...I do believe shyt like this always finds a way to come back around and bite people in some small way or another.
