The title is a little vague....It seems like I am posting mostly late 90's, blurred edges of 2000's....I think whats important is the money was still there, but the creativity and artistry was compromised a little by the guiding corporate powers behind the game...I mean what do you imagine the meeting was like for 'Deepest Bluest'?

Man I hated Master P music when he got popular
I thought the style was dumb, too, but I always had mad respect for Master P's game plan. Master P showed a new generation of black kids that they could be entrepreneurs and do for themselves. If that Ricky Williams contract hadn't blow up in both their faces...
But Master P showed just how high you could reach and how far you could stretch, if you just dreamed it. There are different kinds of yokes, and Master P said that you could have more control over how you're yoked in the music industry. And the best part was that he made traditional execs sit up and take notice, especially when the amount of money he took in was released.
