Ridley Scott’s ‘The Martian’

It was good. Nothing more or less. Kinda surprised how they was going at white women on parts (the forehead, pen scene. Solomon Northup joke on that dumb chick. But ultimately I knew they was gonna let the white women get their shine. It was intersting thoughout except near the end. Started to get kinda boring for like 10 minutes. Matt is likeable. I didn't find alot jokes funny. And the surprising part was the white people in theatre wasn't laughing either which surprised me (saw it out in the burbs). Childish Gambino was good.

As far as comparisons to Instellar. This movie came across Disney-esque but tried to act adult (cursing, nudity). Just kind of a happy type of story. Interstellar was way more dark. Now, overall it kept my attention more then Intstellar. But the 2nd half of Interstellar was classic. Can't compare soundtracks because a lot that music sucked until they got to the credits. Interstellar music was dope.

Great movie, better than Interstellar? idk

I feel like more people here like this because the concept is more realistic and was executed in a more understandable way. Interstellar kind of seemed normal, but then took it to another level that almost seemed like a "Inception" level turn of things. For me, I really liked that added dimension and the almost divine concept they ran with, plus that ending when he finally came back hit me a bit harder than Mark finally getting back on the Hermes.

I never seen that jawn with Sandra (I know it was one of the most hyped movies I've ever seen) but I'm sure this is better than that

Even though this movie is my 3rd favorite space movie of the the past few years it's been on my mind a lot in the past few weeks since. And I'm sure the extended cut will fix some of the issues I have with it.

Wow I was surprised at how well this movie was received. By critics and moviegoers because I really didn't like this movie. It's just OK. For me, Interstellar was much better.

The movie Barack most enjoyed this year was The Martian, starring Matt Damon, while Michelle was smitten with the Amy Poehler-led animated movie Inside Out.
