I just bought into The Martian more and was more entertained by it.
Cool. Thanks for the real reply.The Revenant was more about the cinematography and Leo putting in a good performance than anything else IMO. Hardy was good to great as well, but by the end of the movie I really didn't care about any of the characters.
The Martian on the other hand, I really cared if Damons character was going to make it or not, and the rescue attempt in itself had me on the edge of my seat, so to speak..

Okay... So more specifically... Why did you find it meh?
I didn't think it was a bad movie. I just thought it was a decent movie plot wise and man vs nature wise, and a Leo film - wise. It just didn't bring anything spectacular in those 3 that i mentioned. The man vs nature was probably the only thing that was a little better than good near great. Also it didn't have any good looking female actresses like the other Leo movies.
