Which is the diabetic type that you get over time if you're overweight and have a family history?
My doctor has been warning me the last year or so that i'm in the pre-diabetic range and that i need to do something about it. Trying hard to fight it off but i think i have seen some of the symptoms already. Like certain things i used to eat in abundance like rice (caribbean breh, here) will fukk me up if i have too much of it.
So how does it affect you? I understand it makes you more conscious of what you eat. Like what else? What's a bad day like for you being diabetic?
As a T1D, was "blessed" to get juvenile-onset diabetes at 15. Runs on my father side. Definitely has made me conscious of what I eat in that I can name exactly how many carbs are in a piece of food from memory and can feel what my glucose level could be.
As you mature, your body changes and, therefore, you meds need to change. That there is where it gets tricky. Any calibration can caused detrimental effects (ie. Hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, coma or death) so you gotta stay on point with your physicians (General Doctor and Endocrinologist) .
At times, I hate the disease but, all in all, i am content with it. My family is predisposed to obesity so, with the 'betes, I am fully cognizant of my diet and exercise in an effort to thwart anything close to it. People are surprised to learn that I am diabetic for my appearance.
Breh, get check out
often as it's nothing to trifle with.
