Rogan's audience is painted as right wing but everyone from all walks of life listen to Rogan. You don't have the numbers he does just having one political base.

The left has a huge problem meeting people where they are. Not only do you have to come to them you have to be the perfect Marxist feminist egalitarian progressive. Until you disagree with one thing then you're a both sides,facist,MAGA,misogynist, incel c00n that hates your mama

The appeal of Rogan to people is it's just a conversation. It's not a gotcha interview or a heated debate. It's two people talking for 3-5 hours. You know how valuable that is? Agree or disagree with their politics you learn a lot about a person in a 3 hour talk. Nikkas late to finding out about Elon now but if you've seen him on Rogan you BEEN knew he was an awkward megalomaniac weirdo

The left don't really want a Rogan because they're too quick to censor someone or cover their ears and pretend something isn't happening. The right lies and gaslights all these time sure, but they engage. And in these times engagement is king. That's how an entire media ecosystem was built under the lefts nose. They were sleep because they chased away anyone they could engage with

I don't think the issue is that the left wouldn't allow similar content, it's that the left isn't interested in that content. I'm not stupid so why would I be entertained by 3 hour conversations on how aliens built the pyramids, the moon landing was faked, vaccines are bad, Hitler was misunderstood etc. I would compare it to how some people are fascinated by streaming slop - bad television shows and films that are designed to appeal to people who are browsing their phone while watching "content." I like watching good films and tv shows so why would I waste my time watching bullshyt I know isn't made for me? But as we've seen over the last few years, streaming slop is very popular. More popular than many of the films and shows I enjoy, in fact. It is what it is.

I wouldn't expect liberals to overtake conservatives in podcast anymore than I'd expect conservatives to overtake liberals in Hollywood. These are very different groups who have different interests. Liberals actually listen to a lot of podcasts, they simply listen to different types. Crime/serial killer podcasts, sports, entertainment/gossip, etc. It's just not all linked together by a political ideology.
