Side note: whoever said 100k first week for a pop artist is a flop is delusional. Rihanna gave her album out for free then did 170k the next week and has the number 7 in the country with the Drake video probably dropping during the Grammys which she is performing at. She's straight.

I don't think people realize that people doing units are the ones people love. People don't buy albums unless they like you.

What people don't know about Rihanna is, her first week sales are never extremely high. Her last album in 2012 was the highest she's ever done in the first week (238,000) and it still went platinum and is 4x platinum worldwide. Talk that Talk did 198k first week and is 5x platinum worldwide. Anti will be "real" platinum by this time next year.

Work will obviously be a chart topper for a while then she'll probably release Kiss It Better and then Needed Me. And if those songs don't do the trip, best believe they're gonna have Sia, Esther Dean, etc on call to cook up some hits for a "reloaded" edition

She sold 170k all her albums are in that range and of this time she gave it away for free too

150-250k that's like the range for most of these single based broads. The ones that go above that are the ones with major fan bases in all ages (like Adele, B, Justin and Taylor).

How is it not an accomplishment to get some Koreans to give you 25 million bucks to have their name associated with your musical products . It's cheating but it's still an accomplishment and by the definition of sales being a monetary transaction crossing a certain threshold (like 5-6 bucks per cd) for music, it's sales. It's like raising money in an election some cats like Bernie have to go to 100000 people to collect 10 million, others like Bush go to the Koch brothers or Adelson and collect that 100 million check.
