What if you were a cop and you see a bunch of shifty looking young men loitering after dark in a high crime neighbourhood..you have a feeling their up to no good or perhaps youve arrested some of them before..you stop they start running..you chase them and one of them grabs what looks like a gun..what do you do

a) Wait for him to shoot first so your kids grow up fatherless

b)Shoot first and explain what happened later

this story is hypothetical and has NOTHING to do with the young boy who was killed..and unlike you...I know that block that he was killed on its not some block off the wire...

but answering you question that has nothing to do with the case..

umm I don't know how he can RUN and i can also see him pulling his gun..it would be one or the other...

and if he pulled his gun out while running he would get the first shot at me...

So I would yell stop and call for back up...since I know its a high crime area like YOU said and cops are all around the area..

I'm not going to just start shooting like I'm in the wild wild west ...with no concern with who could catch tho bullets

Its a fukked up situation.....people want to express anger but not face truth ..the cops dont value our kids because we dont value them..this 16 year old boy is wandering around at midnight and getting in trouble because no one is there

When i lived in the burbs i saw with my own eyes a cop drop a teenage boy who was fukking up at home and tell his parents what he did wrong


the difference is the cop knew someone would care about that kid so instead of booking him and putting him in a cell with booty warriors he just ticketed him and released him to his parents.

But my point is, as a community, why are we so quick to stand up and condemn the violence perpetrated on US by outsiders(whether it be a rogue cop or a self styled vigilante in the case of Tryvon) but are not as vocal and outraged when it comes to violence perpetrated on OUR communities by our own?

I understand the larger socio-economic factors that come into play, but some of the shyt that is happening in some of our communities should be just as alarming and condemned by the community at large.
