Back in the day the very first time my pops went over my moms house, her dad answers the door with a ruger in his hand and The Thrill Is Gone blastin in the background. He invites him to come in with the pistol in his hand, pops didn't run or nothin:russ:He came in sat down, pops told him how much he loved that song :lupe: Her pops sat there sippin on wild turkey with the pistol in his waistband and they listened to the entire Completely Well album, moms wasn't even home:pachaha:

One of the greatest guitarist ever.:blessed: Kings playing was so smooth and soulful. Definitely one of my inspirations on the 6 string.

I hope Lucille don't end up being auctioned or sold to some fool with money.

If true that's cool. Its a part of Blues history, it got to be in a museum I guess.

Hopefully in the African American Museum in DC....

Somebody else mentioned that there has been very little sampling of the blues in Hip Hop.... that could be wrong, and can't think of many tracks that do ... :salute the King..

There aren't a lot, but I know a few of em.. King's been sampled a bunch. Somebody already mentioned "Chains and Things", which has been sampled by Ice Cube, UGK, and most recently Kendrick. I know Big Daddy Kane sampled "Ain't Nobody Home" on that joint with Malcolm X's daughter from his third album.

Then of course there's this random 90s hit, which is probably the first time I actually heard King:
