I was being recruited around the same time Colt was by Hawaii, the thing is back then Hawaii would not fly out recruits unless you signed the letter of intent beforehand. They knew a lot of HS kids wanted that Hawaii Vacay! 
He didn’t pan out in the NFL but he just got drafted by a team that took a QB two years prior in the first round(Jason campbell) but he had a huge following in Washington.
