My introduction to D'angelo was his Soul Train debut. That was the first time I heard "Brown Sugar" and was hooked. Not only did I like the song, but my mom did too. That was rare because my parents were brought up on the 60's and 70's music. I was 9, but I loved that song. Then he dropped "Lady", which was also a favorite of mine. The original and the remix were crazy.
Some of these artists pass and it is a simple R.I.P. and keep it moving, but being affected by their music is something else when they pass away.
