Not sure about how he was later on in his life...but the GIF someone posted up top of him saying 'Whoa' illustrates his coke jaw. He was not chewing gum in that video.

I saw him in a couple old Temptations documentaries, and he would always mention stuff like "we was wild" or "we was doing our thang", but never went into detail. When I saw him in that video of "Don't Look Any Further", I always wondered what was up with his mouth. Never heard of coke jaw.
