I was about to say I was in middle school and I heard it on channel 1 news in homeroom too. fukked us up that day.I was a senior in high school when it happened. When I was in high school, we had this program called Channel 1 news that they would play mornings we were in homeroom. Many of our teachers and white classmates didn't have a clue who Eazy E was, but the black kids knew and I was(still am) a hip hop head. The crazy thing is, a few days later, singer Selena was killed and I had no idea who she was until Channel 1 reported it. I didn't watch the news at home so I didn't see it. I was taking Spanish 2 that year and my teacher and Mexican kids knew who she was, but I had never heard of her until her death. I was amazed at how popular she was while not having a clue of her existence.
Yesterday actually.
