A 31-year-old woman shot and killed Monday at a gas station has been identified by her mourning family and friends as Brittany "Bee" Matthews.
Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office continues to hunt for the gunman as a GoFundMe account at
bit.ly/3kkksKg has been started to "support her family and son during this heartbreaking time."
One family member posted video of Matthews with the comment to "make memories take plenty pictures sis I love u forever!!!" Another pleaded for help finding the gunman, writing if anybody knows something, because somebody does, "SPEAK NOW !!!!!"
The gunman is seen running toward the victim's car in the parking lot at Edgewood Avenue West and Avenue B and opening fire about 9 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said. The woman was shot multiple times and died at the scene, police said.
The Sheriff's Office said it appears she was targeted by the gunman, described as a thin Black male wearing a hoodie and a face mask in security camera images. He parked near her in a silver Nissan Rogue and ran up, firing into her vehicle.
The Sheriff's Office reported Thursday morning that the Nissan has been found. The agency also released two more photos of a man and a woman who may have information about the homicide and is asking for the public's help in identifying them.
