Yeah I think a big part of all our childhood is gone. Dude could break down X’s & O’s in layman’s for anyone.
He was also great in the little giants movie as well. Glad he got his flowers before he passed.

People throw the term "legend" around too easily nowadays, but John Madden is an absolute NFL legend..
One of the most recognizable voices. Crazy how many people probably don't realize he had a great coaching career.
I was out driving a little while ago when the news broke, and Chris Broussard and Rob Parker said the exact same thing; the younger generation knows Madden more for the video game than being an all time great coach. Probably what triggered the need for the documentary.

Loved his commentary. I think he had an unmatched combination of:
1. Being knowledgeable
2. Being able to effectively communicate his knowledge to the casual fan
3. Incorporating some lighthearted commentary without taking away from the game
4. Sharing his thoughts and opinions, but not going overboard and knowing when to let the game speak for itself
