Damn I started reading berserk 21 years ago, to say Miura was talented would be a great understatement

Only the new version that doesn't include the golden age arc. Also, that production isn't as good as the first one. Watch the 1997 version first if you haven't. That is the true beginning. Not to mention just a better series. It's a shame that production wasn't continued and the new series is kind of crappy relatively speaking.

I'm not familiar with anime in general, Berserk is one of the only ones I've seen. Is there a reason why it only received one "season" at the time? It's such a stunning cliffhanger it blows my mind that there was no followup at the time.

I still need to watch the last two movies. Saw the first one, which I enjoyed although it covers stuff that was delved into more closely in the anime.

Tough thing to read man, my whole crew went and got brand tattoos like over 10 years ago thats how raw berserk was to us and it was really cool to me when even non-anime fans started reading/watching Berserk because it's so good that it should be up there with Dragon Ball in terms of popularity

Despite knowing about it for years, I never actually read one issue of the manga. I'm more of a slice-of-life kind of Manga and anime guy. I know what kind of influence and impact they had on a lot of people though.

Rumor has it he has been preparing his assistants to take over the drawing of Beserk. They have a manga called Duranki. And you can see the influence with the drawings. Also some people are saying he told the studio the way Beserk ends years ago. Who knows. The most likely scenario we get one more chapter and it abruptly ends and they release the notes on how Beserks ends.

Very mixed feelings about this. Berserk deserves a proper ending, especially the current arc. It’s just gonna be weird that it won’t be 1:1 in Muira’s vision so we’ll never truly know how it was supposed to end.

I think a lot of it will depend on how closely the art will mimic his. It’s gonna be hard to capture the scale he drew things at just for individual panels and how dynamic some shots were.
