There was a Mr. Gaines alias on sohh and he would just randomly come into threads and say this R.I.P.

found out that he died yesterday when it flashed across the bottom of the screen on tv-one, while i was watching "different world".

knocked the wind up outta me. this one hurt b.

My mom asked me a few days ago if he was still alive. Weird.

when i caught the "different world" bug heavy last year(and still have yet to shake it, aside from that wack 1st season), i started looking up alot of the actors to see what theyve been up to. the first thing i checked was to see if mr gaines was still alive.

come to find out, he wasnt as old as his character. dude was 57 when the show was cancelled, which means he played a functional senile old man in his early-mid 50s. NO WONDER HE LOOKED SO FIT!!!

he just had that old man face and knew how to portray one. shouldve won an emmy for this. dude prolly aint even have no wrinkles on his face back then but he was beyond beliveable.
