It's crazy that it's been 18 years.I was 18 when he died use to be a big pac fan when I was a teen but he played a part in the greatest ever getting killed so since 97 it's been off wit his head

Man it was 1997 and I was about to go back home to Cali for Thanksgiving break........My boy Ray swooped through the dorm hyped than a muthafukka tellin me he had something for me to hear. Some shyt for me that he got from this chick he used to fukkin with. It was a CD that said for promo use only. Fool told me it was the new Makaveli album, I was like
......Put that shyt on everything......1997.He had that shyt in his discman, wouldn't even let me put that muthafukka in my system. I pushed play and it had that intro of Pac talkin about Puffy being under extortion and it went right into this shyt.....

The Disc was all them OG Outlawz cuts with other cuts including that SOW cut you posted...
Burned a copy of that muthafukka to a TDK tape and listened to that shyt on the plane thinkin where/how in the fukk did this fool get a hold of that disc and how much music did Pac have that was not out or in the stores yet

song for song no one seeing 2pac. on my mount rushmore of rap along with rakim, cube, scarface and nas. those 5 just in a league by themselves. doing original shyt. important shyt. foundational shyt.
i remember the media back in the 90's man. rap used to get shyt on. there would be op eds shytting on pac. treating as a dumb black thug. we didnt really have the kind of dynamic we have now with social media where nonsense can be countered. if u just watched the news and shyt u would see where whiteswere really inhumane to black people.
imagine if a young pac was alive now though? that media platform? i genuinely believed pac was the malcolm or had the pitential to be of his generation. his interviews were extremely eloquent, passionate, rational. nikka had the intelligence of a black history and american history tenured professor.which means he was old before his time. the cats like suge were still stuck on the short sighted nonsense of the day. pac just had a bigger context to everything man.
i felt a way when chris rock made fun of pac and big on bigger and blacker and never scared. shytting on our icons for white audiences.
