The people choose what they want and the labels oblige.

I’d argue that labels should have a moral imperative but the freedom of speech is constitutionally protected and black artists and people supported gangsta rap despite the push back from elders and politicians.

In my city in the last 10 years two teenage artists came out with different content…

The first has had a highly successful underground career teetering the line of mainstream success as a conscious rapper. He was an industry plant chosen and molded by handlers and labels early with a crew of creatives.

The other blew up making drill music organically in the streets and quickly started amassing views. Labels noticed signed him and he blew his opportunity months later killing someone outside of a barber shop. The other was hotter in the city before and after his deal than the first ever was.

In short the people need to take accountability for who and what they champion.

man.....fukk you for bringing up those nostalgic memories of the early pro era days :mjcry:

What I wanna know is where are the original gangstas at to call this shyt out and condemn it.

There's no way that the mob would've let dozens bordering hundreds of prominent White celebrities to be killed in their streets and say nothing about it.

And what about all these L.A. rappers who are from these hoods.

Where are they to condemn this shyt?:yeshrug:
Lmao. Don't count on it.

Cause They're lowkey embracing this shyt right now boi.:mjlol:

The only person talking sense in drakeo the ruler's brother, but that's it:smh:

And understandably so since extorting and robbing these rappers is how they make their livelihood.

Los Angeles native, and a person who used to live up the street from that Roscoes, off Avalon, checking in:

That is precisely how nikkas get got out here. A lot of out of towners think that because LA is beautiful, shyt doesn't go down. Thinking that the Roscoes "look safe" is what will get your ass killed out here.

Me and my family dont go to that Roscoes for exactly this reason.

This is a problem with coming to LA, is that people who not from here think they can wear what they want, go where they want and do what they want unopposed. I remember one dude from Detroit saying he gon come out here wearing what he wants and dare a nikka to step to him. Breh, that's how nikkas get initiated into these gangs-- they are LOOKING for crash dummies that think they're tough.

Yall keep forgetting that we invented street gangs, and they take that shyt DEADLY SERIOUS. If you not from here, do some research and stay the fukk out of the hoods. There is nothing good there. I'm telling you as a nikka that grew up in South Central-- stay out.

Breh killed Nip in his own hood. Ain't nobody safe. :snoop:
Yea when I heard the news I was thinking dam, He got killed at the west l.a roscoes? :wtf:

O he was in SC? Why? :mindblown:. Trying to get his adventure badge.

Wait a sec, which party do you vote for that is against mass incarceration and war?
I don't vote for any of them. I gave up on voting a long time ago.

It's gonna take a general strike & radical political action to shut this whole country down to make anything happen :yeshrug:
If you’re losing progressives then…

There’s going to be a backlash to all of this

Cenk aint no "progressive":russ:

Cenk's a "former" Republican, who supported the War In Iraq & took $20 million dollars from Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Dude's a corporate shill & TYT is just billionaire money laundering at this point
Just stop, no city in LA is even ranked in the top 20 in crime in America, nothing out of the ordinary is happen in fukking south central damn any other hood man, stop man you embarrassing yourself, nobody is talking about LA, we talking about rapper and the circumstances leading up to his death, everything said is irrelevant I'm done talking about, you not even talking about shyt, doing your best rick ross impersonation
Dude, he's right L.A. is different.

I've been there a few times.

shyt is like bizarro world, G. :francis:

One minute you'll be driving past a beautiful beach & rich people's areas, then the next moment your ass is in the hood, but you don't even know that shyt because unlike our hoods, the sun is shining, the houses don't look all rundown & raggedy with abandoned buildings everywhere.

The moment after that you ass'll be in like Hollywood and there'll be a bunch of trannies just standing around

Then, you'll be on Skid Row with the worst poverty you've ever seen in your life.

I remember I went back to my uncle's crib after we drove through the city feeling like I had just live 2 or 3 lives, man.

His neighborhood didn't even look crazy, but they had bars on their shyt:pachaha:

The problem is is that there's insane wealth & celebrities right in the same vicinity with some of the most ruthless killers on earth.

The midwest maybe more "dangerous" in terms of per capita homicides/violence, but we don't operate the way that L.A. does.

Everybody in that city's crazy, the White folks, the Black folks, the Mexicans.

That shyt need to fall in the ocean:russ:
Organized crime running rampant in the Black community - check
Government not doing anything about it (in fact, supplying the gangs with weapons) - check.
Black Panthers that protected the black community got shut down, but not crips and bloods - check.
Detroit 300, who tried to protect their Black community, got shut down, but not gangs - check.
Law abiding citizens can't carry guns in public, but criminals can - check.

The Black community is a simulation created by white supremacists for maximum Black pain and zero protection.
Just one correction. Our crime is DISORGANIZED.

Organized crime would NEVER allow the amount of chaos that goes on in our neighborhoods, especially when it comes to victimizing our biggest and brightest.

Now, organized crime might extort the biggest & brightest, but the Jews & Italians would find a way to make all this wealth work for them & their community. :francis:
Stupid tweet. Prison abolitionists are a tiny fringe with no real influence on policy. Cenk is an idiot.

Sick of people like you and your GOP-lite bullshyt.
Not even GOP-lite

Stank is a LITERAL "ex-Republican", who was always pro-war and anti labor unions.

Dude's the fakest left there is.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
this doesn’t have nothing to do with LA to me.

1.)LA attracts rappers.
2.) Rappers move freely in LA for some odd reason
3.) rapper gets robbed.

In comparison in NYC rappers almost exclusively stay in Manhattan.

And the cities that are very dangerous aren’t attractive to rappers anyway (Detroit, Philly, St. Louis etc)

So like many other things LA is just a big coincidence as to why so many rappers get caught out there.

Even in Miami all these rappers only stay in South Beach hence the reason you do not see or hear many rappers getting robbed or killed out that way.

I’m sorry but it’s easy to know what parts of LA are shytty…. Houses in the hood look shytty…. All gated up and shyt, windows barred up. It isn’t hard to tell you are in a bad area. I don’t buy that. most of the non Rich parts of LA look shytty, filled with Mexicans and dusties.

Pnb is from Philly...

The hoods in LA probably look nice compared to what he's used to.
