Facts…

Jay didn’t want no ish with P.

Say what u want about P but Mobb Deep had the heart to address Pac while Jay was scared.

Jay said that line knowing that he was one of the shook ones. He better be lucky that Pac died or he would have been Chino XL status.
That’s a false narrative JayZ had a career when BIG and PAC was alive. Jay was going to be Jayz regardless. Jay-Z had streets is watching recorded before Biggie died. Not to mention he had Dame in his corner. Foxy was the top female rapper at the time. jayz was going to be jayz regardless.

Jay wasn’t scared of no damn Prodigy :dahell:

Jay dissed Pac at the Apollo while he was still alive so he wasn’t scared of him either

Nas dissed P because of Mega….

Mega is the reason why we didn’t get any Nas collabs for a decade.

Dude dissed Nas on his verse while P was dissing Jay.

That notebook crook line summed Jay up
Yeah but The Realness sold 100 thousand records INDEPENDENTLY. That was unheard of for a NY rapper. The independent hustle was normally a west coast/down south thing. Dudes used to have to take they music to NY to get a deal.

So Cormega was very successful even though he wasn’t as mainstream and he still had respect in the streets. I think after Mega fell out with the Firm. Nas didn’t want Mega to make it in the industry tbh. When Mega made it without the machine that was a big diss to Nas and the industry. The Realness one of my favorite albums.

Not to mention he was dissing Jayz all over Murda Muzik. Which imo was the last great Mobb Deep album as a group. How you bait Jayz then say you wasn’t trying to go at him?

I think he baited him for Nas to destroy him and he tried to tippy toe on him. But he should’ve released an Ether type track record. Infamy sounded so uninspired.

P said in an interview with Combat Jack that he wasn’t trying to be ill with the bars and that he was basically threatening that he would kill Jay if he see him….

Jay didn’t want that smoke.

This only works if you at least have Jay beat up. If you're gonna keep it rap you gotta do better than P did.

I like P but reality he's nota that great with bars. For example a nikka like Saigon pound for pound got more bars than him just not the same status

nikkas will not keep it real because he's dead but this are the facts

From 95-99 Prodigy was top 5 out. Mobb Deep dropped 3 classics in a row. Jay-Z took over when BIG died. I clearly remember sending subs to Jay. Jay responding on “Where I’m From”. Then the Source magazine P called him out. Prodigy dropped “Keep it Thoro” crazy single btw.

Jay went at Nas and P on Takeover. Nas destroyed him on Ether but Mobb Deeps response was:scust:. How you bait Jayz all them years to release this garbage? I was expecting an Ether type diss.

Two factors...
1. Him being sick started fukking with him
2. He changed his flow up so he can rap on different style of beats. He couldn't rap like Hell on Earth P on alot of soul sample shyt.

Real weird era for P. Not only did he issue a weak response after Takeover hit him harder than it did Nas, he went from dropping consistently fire verses on Murda Muzik and HNIC to whatever Infamy was. And in the midst of that Nas smacked him upside the head on Destroy & Rebuild.

Had to be a combination of health issues and substance abuse. It was crazy disappointing he dropped such a weak response after subbing and baiting Jay for years.

The whole Infamy album was basically disses at JayZ
Ps verse on Clap was aimed at JayZ
My Gats Spittin was aimed at Jay and the Roc
Burn(Dissed Jayz)
Crawlin was definitely a diss to jay
Hurt nikkas was actually Havoc dissing P with that robbed in they own projects line :mjlol:

I’m not denying his health I mean it probably took a toll on him from. Mobb Deep released albums 95,96,1999. P was top 5. I think he just like to take shots and subliminally. Jay going at him directly at Summerhjam caught him off guard he didn’t have a plan on how to respond.

The reason I say that is to say this after the Jayz he still dropped some quality material. I like Americaz Nightmare, Free Agents Mixtape, Return of Da Mac, Albert Einstein albums. So he had a career after he just disappointed in his response to Jayz that was the consensus.
