Was supposed to see him at December to Dismember in the chamber match when they replaced him mid ppv. Damn shame.

Damn RIP to an innovative wrestler.

Seeing this dude with the Hannibal mask flying around as a kid had me obsessed with trying to catch more ECW on TV in the mid 90s. Saw him randomly one night at 2am on a channel I didn't know we had and was blown away. He's probably the last gimmick guy to get over internationally the old school way. Haven't even watched the retirement match smh.

The rivalry Sabu had with Taz was incredible. He was an innovator of violence. The competitive alliance between he and RVD is so underrated and should be talked about more. It was one of the things that instantly drew me in as fan. I had to stay up 2am on a Sunday in NYC to watch this shyt. Sabu was one of the pillars of ECW, and he must always be on its Mt Rushmore. Unfortunately he revealed his bigotry in his latter years. Such is life. The Suicidal Genocidal Maniac is gone. Let him rest.

RIP Sabu, a legend.

Ironic cuz I was thinking about something the other night. I been working late shifts lately getting off around midnight. So I was sitting there watching tv thinking how there's really no more late night wrestling like in the past. I remember when I was younger that ECW would come on later at night on some random channel and would see guys like Sabu and RVD doing their thing. Always used to setup the chair and run across the ring to launch off of it over the top rope to the outside, and all the other crazy moves he would do.

That late night ECW was always fun to watch. These days all wrestling on primetime so not really anything on obscure times. Not to mention the growth of streaming services. But Sabu was def my ECW fave cuz of his talents and moves. RIP to him.

Imagine having a legendary career but your final match was against Joey Janela

:scust:
I will say… I saw those clips of Sabu taking nasty bumps during that match go viral a few weeks ago and had no idea his opponent was Janela until today :pachaha:
