I discovered this man about 10 years ago when learning about general business. He used to sit on 10 different large companies board of directors. To be fair it was all connections due to Clinton as Vernon didn’t have much business background. He took advantage and ran with it earning 1 million $ per year as he should. Board administration critics called that era where directors could juggle multiple boards membership “The Vernon Jordan era”. RIP.
Many of the boards that he was on actually predated Clinton so I wouldn't say this is a fair characterization.
And I think its a bit unkind to attribute many of a man's talents and successes to others, but, Jordan didn't really jump into the big leagues until he married Ann Dibble Cook. It was Ann's influence, not Clinton's, that got him in many doors. The Clinton association was just a cherry on top.
