I used to see Vernon when I worked in DC at AG
I wish we had more like him. True excellence. The only black man to get a Bilderberg invite. A very shrewd and clever insider, he was truly a thoughtful and intellectual man. I met him once at an Urban League conference years ago (he was once the President). Very wise man.
May the man rest in peace.
Who?
Don’t care
I'm not going to act as though I knew who he was, but the Tweet itself is enough to warrant having enough respect to do a quick Google search.
Hope the elder is at peace. A lot of people talk about "We are not our parents generation" but the fact of the matter is they paved the way for us to reach greater heights.
Wouldn't hurt people to have a bit more respect. Even if you don't agree with every move they made, learn from it.
I discovered this man about 10 years ago when learning about general business. He used to sit on 10 different large companies board of directors. To be fair it was all connections due to Clinton as Vernon didn’t have much business background. He took advantage and ran with it earning 1 million $ per year as he should. Board administration critics called that era where directors could juggle multiple boards membership “The Vernon Jordan era”. RIP.I wish we had more like him. True excellence.
