already tired of the "Jeter doesn't deserve this" narrative. Did Jeter do his part to get this team to the playoffs? No more homegrown stars, no more core 4, a bunch of overpaid, injury prone "stars," enough talk like you're still in the middle of the championship run.

Yankees being cheap after the Boss died is the reason. At least if he was still here they would have overpaid for better stars

The fukk is your dumbass talking about?

The yankees started being cheap when it came to signing big name free agents and giving out mega contracts. That's why they're in the situation they're in. In the past they would throw bad contracts and worse contracts. ARod's contract was bad, but to say competitive they Signed CC and Tex. In the past they were bidding against themselves. Now they don't want to bid at all unless its for a young player like Tanaka. I think the biggest mistake they ever made was not signing Miguel Cabrera. They've just been dumb when it came to signing free agents.

Which is STUPID (and they're still doing it. See Beltran, Carlos). The only difference between then and now is that the Yankees could use the fact that someone was about to get paid against a cheap team and wind up giving up shyt for them. That's not the case anymore.

Miguel Cabrera has never been a free agent.
