What's with car accidents in the Dominican

:francis:

Drinking and driving.

Anybody that has ever been to DR and driven there knows how bad it is. Street signs are merely suggestions.

RIP

Driving in the DR is absurd. People don't even pay attention to the lights. Cops in the road are useless. It's basically just driving to where there is open space with little in the way of order. My friend has a Benz down there and I thought he was insane for having it in Santo Domingo with those conditions. The public transportation fukks it up big time too. Massively overloaded cars and buses going two miles an hour and half over the lane

According to what i was told, they were celebrating the victory of "Las Aguilas" (a local baseball team in DR that Yordano Ventura and Andy Marte are part of) over "El Licey" (another local DR baseball team) in the second game of the final series of the dominican professional league. Andy Marte's friends said that they tried to take the keys from him last night because he was too drunk to drive, but he wouldn't let them.

The thing about dominican baseball teams is that they have no discipline, every time they win an important game, they go out and get drunk, even if they have to play the next day. The manager also gets drunk with them. Its fukking crazy out here!!

Sad with the deaths of Tavaras, Fernandez, and now Ventura. I hope MLB comes up with a program to help young players not to make the mistakes they made or at least donate money to DR to fix the road and safety issues there

Man. This is sad just saw the bleacher report update on my phone. Felt like Jose Fernandez all over again. Must beer something about them Dominican roads, I remember the cardinals losing Oscar Taveras in a car crash down there too. I saw another report about a former player dying in a car crash as well.
It's worse in Nigeria and African in general.

The oversight for driving in those nations are horrible. Anyone can get a license.

WTF......

wow RiP

gone way too soon ... I'm sick :(

Wow so prophetic that he's playing that song. For those that don't know, the lyrics are "nobody is eternal in this world"

One part goes

"when u guys are saying bye to me, with the last goodbyes on this earth
Don't cry for me, nobody is eternal
Nobody comes back from that deep sleep"

And

Goodbye to those of u staying
I always wanted to sing to u
Good luck and I hope u enjoy tremendously
There is no time to cry
Don't cry for the person that died
He's leaving forever anyway
Cry for the ones still here
And help them if u can

(loosely translated)

Song gives me chills when I hear it cause my dad's best friend who died from cancer a while back requested this song at his funeral. My dad requested we play it for his as well(hes still alive). Can't hear that song without choking up a little.

As for the driving in DR. Laws are so lax that cops hope to catch drunk drivers just because it's a quick payday for them. Catch one of these baseball players shyt faced and they let him go for a few hundred dollars and an autograph. shyts crazy.
