Wow so prophetic that he's playing that song. For those that don't know, the lyrics are "nobody is eternal in this world"

One part goes

"when u guys are saying bye to me, with the last goodbyes on this earth
Don't cry for me, nobody is eternal
Nobody comes back from that deep sleep"

And

Goodbye to those of u staying
I always wanted to sing to u
Good luck and I hope u enjoy tremendously
There is no time to cry
Don't cry for the person that died
He's leaving forever anyway
Cry for the ones still here
And help them if u can

(loosely translated)

Song gives me chills when I hear it cause my dad's best friend who died from cancer a while back requested this song at his funeral. My dad requested we play it for his as well(hes still alive). Can't hear that song without choking up a little.
we played this song at my uncle's funeral. wasn't a dry eye in the place one that song came on. great song.

According to what i was told, they were celebrating the victory of "Las Aguilas" (a local baseball team in DR that Yordano Ventura and Andy Marte are part of) over "El Licey" (another local DR baseball team) in the second game of the final series of the dominican professional league. Andy Marte's friends said that they tried to take the keys from him last night because he was too drunk to drive, but he wouldn't let them.

The thing about dominican baseball teams is that they have no discipline, every time they win an important game, they go out and get drunk, even if they have to play the next day. The manager also gets drunk with them. Its fukking crazy out here!!
If there's one thing Dominicans know how to do well, it's having a good time. :pachaha:

According to the dominican press, Yordano Ventura was mugged just moments before his death. Some individuals found him injured almost dying on the side of the road and instead of helping him get medical attention, they robbed his world series ring and everything else they could find and left him there to die.

What a fukked up world we live in!! :mjcry:

As for the driving in DR. Laws are so lax that cops hope to catch drunk drivers just because it's a quick payday for them. Catch one of these baseball players shyt faced and they let him go for a few hundred dollars and an autograph. shyts crazy.

I don't speak Spanish and honestly when I posted that I was just thinking dang, dude just seems to be in a really good place vibin to this song, and it was just a good look for him to be remembered by.

But now that I know the meaning and the reverence of this song in the Spanish community I'm just like wow.. Its even more fitting than I originally thought..

And my Mexican homie just schooled me on this song too.. He said they played it at a family members funeral of his as well ...

Anyways, God bless the dead and thanks for educating us on the translation

I'd like to say they aren't, but that would be lying. Tourist areas are still pretty safe though, but the non touristy areas are pretty bad, especially in the populated cities like Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Francisco, etc.

Yea man. Not going out at night is not a suggestion, it's a warning.

You don't bury your dead in valuables either because they will dig em up and rob the corpse.
