Yeah, in the dial up days so much emphasis was put on not handing out your personal details.

I remember the huge concern over MSN and AOL group chats. How they were phased out due to the risk of predators.

Then in the mid thousands, putting yourself all over the internet became common place.

I think there is a cut off point. I have a feeling that those born in the early 90s are more likely to see the internet as something that it is seperate from their personal life. Those who started using the Internet after the emergence of social media are more likely to see it as an extension of themselves so they don't realise the implications of broadcasting every thought to the world.
