I would say conference/division realignment is the true hallmark of a "dead" rivalry.
Texas v. Arkansas was a classic feud back in the day. So was Oklahoma v. Nebraska.

Joe Pa wanted nothing to do with playing their in-state red-headed step brother.. I think it's renewing for a few matchups in 2016 or 17 or something though
And yeah Steelers - Browns has always been a rivalry. It's pretty one-sided now though, losing to the Browns is basically the most embarrassing thing that could happen to the Steelers in a season. The hate is always there deep down though. If the Browns ever get good again, best believe that hate and rivalry will heat back up real quick
