See I respect you as a Devils fan, unlike some of Devils fans I see on HFBoards or Twitter who seem have a insecure and inferior complex when it comes to the Rangers, you keep your hatred fair and honest. Honestly, I wouldn't care if we got swept, the way the Rangers inability to get consistent quality scoring chances and any PP production is pissing me off. I don't want to subject myself to seeing them struggle to get mediocre shots on goal and play right into the Kings game. This team needs to get changed the offensively especially at C and Defense.
I wouldn't even say that but I keep it in perspective. Reality is, Devils have won everything and get 0 respect from fans and media and probably never will. While those same type of idiot Rangers Fans on HFBoards, Twitter, WFAN and in real life who feel entitled, bytch about everything that doesn't go their way and shyt on the Devils for no other reason generally except jealousy that, the Devils are the most successful team in this market over the past 20 years not named the New York Yankees.
I think the difference between me and most Devils fans is
A. I don't hate Lundqvist (But Marty's better.... well was now Lou needs to throw him in the :bushes:, as sacrilegious as it sounds)
B. I liked Sean Avery.
C. I can tolerate the Flyers because I really like Giroux and Simmons and like Hartnell sometimes (The rest of their squad can eat a dikk).
But Rangers fans (not you) & media definitely amplify the hate. Because let's be honest if there's any hockey talk at all on the New York airwaves it's about the Rangers and you get an occasional Islander call her and there because they have a territory. The Devils don't have a territory, we've been overrun by Flyers and Rangers fans our entire existence and the core fans are generally my age and at most 5-10 years older than me (I'm 25) and every Devils fan has experienced Rags and Flyers fans invade their building every time they play in Jersey though the move to Newark has sorta helped. National perception of the Devils has never been good and if you're on air locally, unless you played or worked for the Devils you have to become a Rangers shill, even if you're a Devils fan *stares at Don LaGreca*
Basically, the Rangers and Devils are two sons of a wealthy man. The Rangers are the older son who is being has been left the entire family fortune. He is a fukk up but has so many resources he's wildly successful (the Rangers financially) who wildly underachieves and he nor the company never reach their potential (2 cups in 75 years). The Devils are the accidental pregnancy and unwanted and unloved baby that got no attention while the older two brothers, the Rangers and Islanders, got all of the attention. However, the Devils became an overachiever and became a power player over time but could never break out because he was always in big brother Ranger's shadow who undermined the Devils by his mere presence. To continue the analogy, the Islanders were the child prodigy who eventually got strung out on drugs, because another child prodigy came along (the Oilers). To this day, the Islanders are still fighting their addictions and the past season they relapsed. Oh and the Rangers fit Jim Dolan the person to a tee.
So yea, I shyt on the Rags every chance I get, a lot of it because of douchebag Rangers fans who don't know their place in need to be put it in it. And those are many. And to big up the Devils because really Devils fans are literally the only people who would stick up for the Devils in mainstream hockey talk and anytime you big up the Devils there a high chance someone will try and shyt on you.
Devils fans have a chip on their shoulder.... I think you'd admit deservedly so.
