Why you think NBA and NFL players mostly go to Big Market cities when they are free agents.

People don't watch WNBA games like that, so being in a major market could help her out a whole lot.

It's the WNBA breh. You think Cappie Pondexter gets more love because she plays here in NY? You think Lauren Jackson has been hurting all this time in Seattle? They took a team in Miami and threw it in the bushes. One of the teams plays in a fukking casino in Connecticut. The Shock are in Tulsa because they moved from Detroit. The cool thing about the WNBA is that you already know who some of these players are. There's no buildup to a Skylar Diggins. As long as she wins (which should be the only criticism, but hey, that's why she's in Tulsa in the first place), she'll be marketed like crazy.

This is the same reason Shaq said why he went to the Lakers over Orlando. Even when Orlando had the better team at the time.

This is the same reason Shaq said why he went to the Lakers over Orlando. Even when Orlando had the better team at the time.

Lisa Leslie was the flagship person of the WNBA, period, and that prior to her even playing a single game. Her being in LA didn't hurt, but it's not as if not being there would have prevented Lisa Leslie from doing everything she did.
If the WNBA was that worried about that, the way the league is set up now wouldn't be that way at all. Hell, compared to the overseas money they'd be getting, playing in the WNBA alone is hustlin backwards.

I was comparing being in a big media market over a small media market, which can be compared to any industry where you are in the public eye. And Swoopes was also a flagship person even when she missed the first year for having a baby.

meh. whos to say that sheryl swoopes wanted to do any of that stuff? case in point, candace parker was a better version of skylar diggins 5 years ago, and shes been in LA ever since, and she hasnt done half of what lisa leslie has done.
