Me and my nikkas would roast each other all the time. My roast game wasn't that good, but I could fight. I stole off a nikka because he was cooking me lol. After a while nikkas start roasting me because of that shyt too lol. "There go Black Ken, don't say nothing about him or he gone go waterboy on yo ass". The thing is, all these people were my friends. It didn't mean anything, and nikkas was really just playing. But some people got short tempers, some people can't handle roasting, and some people just ain't witty with the roast.

For people that weren't our friends if they weren't really responding we'd stop and say we were just playing. Who knows what effect that had on that person, but we'd let it be know we ain't mean it.

You just never know what someones state of mind is, not everyone can take jokes.

This is one of the major traumas from school that many people have not gotten over going into adulthood.

That trauma carries right over into flexing culture.

I guess in some schools they really meant that shyt. When I went to school if we saw someone was really hurt by the shyt, we'd say "I'm playin" "you know I'm playin" or everyone would turn and roast the person who said the fukked up shyt. We really weren't fukking with people like that. And if there was actual beef cats just talked shyt to each other and fought or just talked shyt, they didn't do this sissy ass back in forth under the guise of jokes.

Roasting gave me confidence in my most formative years and the ability to move in circles where I wouldn't originally be a part of. I still miss the days when nikkas could take a joke or at least had to. But I've def seen some dudes run and cry or skip class after a new haircut or a breakup to avoid getting roasted.

One time this average looking breh ended up dating a bad bytch and we used to roast the shyt out of him everyday on some pete davidson shyt. They ended up breaking up and he pretty much told us she's off limits. We were like cool. So then she sat at our lunch table and we roasted the both of them for like 30 minutes. Nikkas finishing up their mashed potatoes and getting right back into it.

She never talked to us or him again and we definitely ruined his confidence with women for at least a semester. It is what it is though
