This is my favorite movie of all time. I really don't give a fukk what anyone else thinks about it. If everyone hated the movie or thought it was racist or insensitive towards the mentally challenged because they completely missed the point, I would still love it.

There was a wide variety of foolishness.

Ben drinking the blood and brain matter out of the detached head of the director cause he thought it was fake.

And...

fukking Tom Cruise :mjlol:

That shyt blew my mind. We all knew Tom was crazy ever since he stomped Oprah's couch, but this mothafukka really went the distance this time showing out and for once it didn't backfire.

This movie was so prolific at least two of the actors played characters from the movie OUTSIDE the movie. Tom played Len Wiseman for some MTV Music Awards skits and RDJ performed a baptism or exorcism or some shyt as the black dude in some extra VHS quality skits where that nikka adlibs the craziest fukking shyt I've ever seen. Like I deadass thought he was back on drugs. That skit had to be what..30 minutes of fukkery? And who the fukk even were those people in the skit. I didn't recognize any of them. :mindblown:

Everytime this comes up you can tell a lot about what kind of people you're dealing with on the coli.

The point of him being in blackface was because he was a method actor that got casted to play a black guy because Hollywood studios would rather hire a white guy to play a black guy than a black guy to play a black guy. Which is why the actual black guy in the movie is important because he keeps reminding him and you how racist Hollywood studios are. Yet the same nikkas run in these threads completely missing the whole point dap fishing. It wasn't shytting on black people, it was shytting on Hollywood.

The movie was good until they made black dude gay. Then I kinda just felt like the whole movie was a backhand. Other than that the shyt was funny.

They were poiking fun at method /acting/actors who go to extremes to get into character.. Jared Leto, Daniel Day Lewis, etc.

The problem is social media has given alot of nobody nothing ass freelance/journalist/writers a voice to express every brain fart they have and alot of them think they are on some level because they are verified/blue checked... They are the main ones stirring up faux outrage.

And we have a winner.

Lets not forget the biggest thing. Every idiot who is a common person now has a voice.

The Blackface didn't bother me....just how unfunny that movie was....what just a corny era in comedy where Hollywood
brainwashed people into thinking Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell were even a little bit funny :scust:@ all those garbage 2000s comedies

Hold up now. I will not allow slander of Semi Pro in here.

I dont like Joe Rogan. Brings on a prolific actor like RDJ and of course asks him about some anti-politically correct shyt

Of course it could still get made today. And the movie sucked anyways.
Yeah it did suck, this scene and the campfire scene (and whatever the hell tom cruise was doing) only things worth watching the movie for

The thing that made RDJ and tropic thunder passable was the ridiculousness of it and the fact that they actually had Brandon T Jackson in the movie calling out the actor for using blackface.

it was the meta commentary of the whole thing.

Usually with blackface cacs are just so lazy and uncreative that they slap it on and call it a joke or say they’re trying to make some hollow point that isn’t clear.

Exactly. I wasn't a fan of the whole thing but this is on point

I thought that this was satire. RDJ was playing a white guy that did blackface, with a terrible black accent, instead of studios hiring a black person. They were literally highlighting the absurdity of it all.

Now there’s still the chance of some unoriginal white exec to try to do the same thing in a future movie, just to push black face. Please don’t. Tropic Thunder was enough.
