i respect the Lakers because they clearly have a long term plan

- just let Kobe shoot the rock this and next season
- sell out Staples Center and generate shytload of money even tho the team sucks (remember: Kobe = $$$)
- be bad enough so that Phoenix won't get your draft picks
- don't take on any longterm contracts and clear all capspace by 2016 (just like Miami did pre LeBron decision)
- sign free agents in 2016 or 2017 cause it's the fukking L.A. Lakers and they always end up with elite Players
- win 55+ games by 2018

See i'd rather be shyt for 3 years and then be a contender by the end of the decade than being trapped on the mediocrity treadmill or worse hope that a scrub like Ricky Rubio suddenly evolves from Brevin Knight 2.0 to Magic Johnson

Really? :ohhh:

In the 3 Lakers wins:

Smush Parker put up 10.3 ppg on 41.1 % FG and shot 11.3 times per game.
Kobe Bryant put up 23.3 ppg on 48.2 % FG and shot 18.6 times per game
Luke Walton put up 10.3 ppg on 43.8 % FG and shot 10.6 times per game
Lamar Odom put up 20.3 ppg on 50.0% FG and shot 14.0 times per game
Kwame Brown put up 12.3 ppg on 46.4% FG and shot 9.3 times per game.

In the 4 Lakers losses:

Smush Parker put up 7.8 ppg on 26.3% FG and shot 9.5 times per game
Kobe Bryant put up 31.3 ppg on 46.4% FG and shot 24.3 times per game
Luke Walton put up 13.5 ppg on 47.1% FG and shot 12.8 times per game
Lamar Odom put up 18.3 ppg on 49.1% FG and shot 14.3 times per game
Kwame Brown put up 13.3 ppg on 56.8% FG and shot 9.3 times per game

Sohh, obviously you're wrong. The ONLY person to shoot less times in losses than in wins was Smush "Bum Ass" Parker and he shot horrible in the losses. Everyone took more shots in losses than they did wins, so what are you talking about?:sas1:

Maybe, just like I said all the way back in 2006, the Suns offense was too uptempo and the Lakers defense couldnt match or keep up with the pace Mike D'Antoni and Prime Steve Nash had them racing at.:sas2:

Another victory for the "Good Guys" though:ahh:

:what:

Did you even read my post? Do you think Kobe shooting 18 times a game (or even 24 for that matter) qualifies as Kobeball?

You said:

The Stans always talk about how the Smush/Kwame teams were the worst teams ever assembled yet they fail to mention that the 3-1 lead they had on Phoenix was not the result of Kobeball, it was Odom, Smush, Kwame, and Walton getting lots of shots and what do you know, since they were involved they played defense and rebounded

Well, if they were getting MORE shots in the losses and still let the Suns come back from being down 1-3 (because they didnt play defense or rebound), why are they not blamed as well?:dwillhuh:

You claim they were only up because of NOT playing Kobeball....well, then they still werent playing Kobeball when they lost 3 in a row.

:snoop: I hope you're just trolling. All I'm saying is that the Lakers are better when Kobe plays team ball and it has always been that way. They were competitive against a much better Suns team. With Kobeball it would have been a 5 game series at best.

You caught me earlier in the middle of a heated boxing debate:manny:

Yes, the Lakers are ALWAYS a better team when Kobe plays teamball (ie, when he turned into Kobe Johnson and led the Lakers to the playoffs in 2012 where before, he was just shooting and we were losing).

Thing is, that's not who he is. He's a shoot first player and that style has garned him 7 NBA Finals apperarances and 5 Championships, so in his mind, why change now?:yeshrug:

i respect the Lakers because they clearly have a long term plan

Sat next to Big shot Rob at a sportsbar in Atlanta during the playoffs. He just hates ballhogs, in general. He said the ball should touch at least 3 players on every possession. Probably learned that from the Spurs....

Exactly, lakers are tanking

I think they want okafor

Next year

Okafor
Hill
Young
Kobe
Randle
Ed Davis

They'll give out some one year deals for decent roleplayers and then go into the next season with

Kobe (10-12 mil) young (6 mil), randle (3 mil), okafor (5 mil)
They will have a few guys on minimum salaries. Realistically they will have about 50 mil in cap room to fill 4-5 roster spots.
