I wouldn't hate it either, but bro he basically hasn't made many beats like that in 13-14 years. This is kinda like yelling at the clouds. This is pretty much his 10th or 11th album was minimal drums.

If you really wanna keep it a buck, Marcberg in 2010 was truly his only real boom-bap project. Even Reloaded in 2012 only had a few boom bap beats with hard drums.

It's just not his steez.

I get the aural aesthetic. He pretty birthed the drumless movement that Alchemist ran with (and now Al is trying to rap like him too) but I can't help but think how neck breakingly dope something like "Mello" would be with hard ass drums and a snare.

Also the synths on Childish Games are already my first favorite musical moment of the (young) year. Sounds like some Wendy Carlos 70s film shyt.
