True Love the worst joint on here but that sample still got stuck in my head today:wow:
Best song on their, imo.

Out of his wheelhouse kind of sound/beat...more boom bap and traditional than his usual twist, but yeah, shyt is stupid. Play it in the whip loud and come back and tell me if you feel the same.

I love the sample on “True Love” sounds like a Madlib beat to me. Love the Caribbean vibe on it. Think Roc comes thru with a bunch of dope rap performances on this. Loved seeing TF getting album placements.

I could’ve done without Flee Lord and Worthy features.

Greatgawd and criimeapple came thru imo

Floxxx is a dope album closer

My favorites

Gold Crossbow
True Love
Tapeworm
Went Diamond
Larry Bird

After a week, and listening to this somewhere in the neighborhood of ten times or so, I don’t see how anyone could rate this lower than 4.5 mics. :wow:

This is one of his most cohesive and consistent projects ever. :wow:
Typically his albums have one or two avant- grade left field beats that I typically skip. There isn’t anything even remotely close to that on this album. :wow:
Quotables galore as usual :wow:
The only downside is the features. But even then June, Knowledge and Greatgod were solid to excellent.

Time will tell of course, but replay ability on this is insane :wow:

Just finished listening not too long ago.

Behind Elephant Man's Bones, this is without a doubt my 2nd favorite album by Roc.

The Giallo theme throughout is perfect and gives the album a nice vibe and a unique style. It stands out more than his previous works because of the rich and deep sounds in the production.

Every song had me envisioning Roc dressed like the figure on the cover starring in a Mario Bava, Lucio Fulci, or Argento flick.

Favorite songs:
Marciology
Gold Crossbow
True Love (I love the sample and vocals of the woman)
BeBe's Kids
Bad JuJu
Killin' Spree (probably my favorite sample and guest feature by Crimeapple. It had that prime Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western feel)
Went Diamond
Higher Self (T.F. is underrated ASF, I'm usually not big on Flee but occasionally he'll come with the lyrics like he did on this)
LeFlair (has a nice slow tempo)
On The Run (probably my favorite Jay Worthy verse)
Larry Bird (They all killed it over this sample 🔥)

I know I said this is my second favorite but on repeat listens this might just surpass the Elephant Man's Bones as my #1 album from him. Roc has just gotten better after each release that it kinda makes his earlier works (Marcberg, Reloaded, Rosebud, RR2, etc) feel overshadowed because he's grown so much that it's like listening to a different artist.

because the beats are trash :dead:

this production is fart on a record status; the replies are nostalgia for what he's done in the past. if this was just beats on some album by some no-name dikkhead, no one would be feeling it :mjlol:
