Behold is also less experimental and more traditional as well. Just dope flips with ill rhymes and hooks. Easiest Roc album for a newcomer to his music to get into.
That's funny. I thought I was the only person tat suggested Dark Horse to fans that want to get put on to Roc's catalogue. I usually say start with Dark Horse and then I basically say take your pick between Reloaded or Marcberg, but that Reloaded is the album he's got that's the most influential on the game.

Reloaded TO ME is what people try to claim GKMC is.

Same. I always thought of Section 80 as his first album until later on someone told me it was considered a mixtape. I legit never knew.
Because it’s a lie. It was promoted as an indie debut ALBUM when it dropped. Anyone who remember the rollout will tell u this. U even had cats like DEHH reviewing it as such. I believe that Lil B album dropped around that same time as well.

@spliz Behold a Dark Horse having more drums is one of the reasons it's my favorite since Reloaded, and I agree with @Piff Perkins that Marcielago was a good mix of drums, no drums, experimental, more straightforward, etc.

I mean I'll never complain about any Roc Marci music, but @Jon Okello peep what @Mowgli @Ziploc and @PlayerNinety_Nine said about Snow. Or even listen to Marcberg. Half of that album had hard drums (Pop, Panic, Snow, Riding Around, Jungle Fever, Don shyt, Marcberg, and Scarface). And there were less drums on Reloaded but they were there.

Roc Marci has always made and chosen beats with drums, so I don't want to put him in a "drumless loop" box. Someone like Ka has always produced drumless beats for themselves. Roc has always had a little more variety to his production. I mean the albums he produced this year for Stove God and XP have some dope variety. Roc's a crazy underrated producer.

It's nothing wrong IMO with wanting Roc to rhyme on some more traditional joints, because it's been a while since he's done it. But I'm sure this'll be dope regardless.

Last album was def a nice collection of all his styles, from the loops to drums to some left field samples. I really liked it. I'm just saying I want to hear him do something different, or go back to hard ass drums like on Marcberg. He has a great ear for soul loops but man I wanna hear different shyt. Some jazz loops or something. More dark rock shyt, like Saw from the last album.
