I was awake when it was announced he was dead, and even though it probably should've, suicide didn't really enter my mind. Woke up to that news, and man, I'll just never understand it, especially this far into life. He must've still been messing with drugs and been in a bad way. That's just terrible.

fukking drugs. shyt has taken so much from this world. Sad that of those Grunge monsters (Kurt, Layne, Eddie, Cornell, even Weiland) that only one is left standing. Shoutout to Eddie, and may he live another 30 years. Don't want his name coming across twitter like Weiland 2 years ago (damn, it's been almost 2 years already) and Cornell today.

My first concert was lollapalooza 92. Pearl Jam, sound garden, ice cube, etc.

soundgarden was one of the highlights of a stacked lineup. Saw them again in 94 (I think), and not since. Was excited to see them touring again, and now this.

Damn.

Damn I can't believe 3 leadman out of the big 4 Seattle grunge bands are now gone. Sound garden was great. Cornell had a really strong voice like plant.

Damn. Cuz was epic with it.

Very few rock bands do I know the lead singer. I remember in the 90s hearing Soundgarden....even Inspectah Deck had a line in Wu Tang Forever about the group. Then hearing Audioslave track here . His voice has that relaxed slight gravely feel, but not whiny.

I would have just thought it was a similar grunge group. I had to look through wikipedia to see how he formed different groups, etc.

Crazy that he was suffering apparently.

I might need to do a straight up grunge exploration of groups I remember from the 90s. I might have to jump in a pool or take some pop music breaks, because grunge can be gloomy as fuuck. Style is dope though.
