I know the difference between you and serious's post.
Serious ain't having it and not entertaining that bullshyt.
Plus, been on no tolerance, period.
I know how he is gonna spit his shyt.
You on the other hand...
Made good post,...content wise.
Then dropped the ball, when you posted links.

Ahhh, got you. Not everything I like is liked by everybody.

Art Barr said:
I expect better knowledge and especially links from you if all this is true.
Plus, you should be way better at acknowledgement and recognizing skills than what you posted.

That's the thing: I didn't say the dude didn't have 'skills' since at the very least he's 'playing his lane'. The problem is, his lane is very narrow & short. Dude has potential if he works on it instead of being lazy with it. That's one of the problems I see in a lot of what is offered. It lacks longevity.

Also,.this is my culture and this shyt is that serious.
As it is the last linking point to the pedigree of a black man, with knowledge of self.

Rap is but one of the elements of hip-hop. You and I both know this. Those who don't rep it well are forgotten or used as an example of what is not acceptable in our culture. We can call out suckers, but time will tell who's real and who's fake.

I see you, fam......:shake:

Rocko just makes the same outdated pre-requisite songs ideas and rehashed to oblivion with no skill content.
That has been the rubrick of a popular mainstream selling gangsta rap solo album since kill at will.
Plus all the seminal additions to this formula since then.
Which, means it is an old wack ass hat in the same sammich wack deli.
As any other wack rap mainstream gangsta rap artists for the past two decades.

His music ain't on shyt and when you know the history of mainstream gangsta rap since 1992.
It really ain't bout shyt, either.
He says nuffin content wise or skillwise to add to anything of any significance culturally, artistically or rap wise.

He raps about the same bullshyt as south central cartel.
To any low standard, that most trap rapper have rapped about on a level of wackness.

As a matter of fact,...he was an artist.
I let somebody talk me into giving a benefit of the doubt.
Back when, imma do me dropped.
Still to this day,...same wack biter filled sammich.

There is no way you can tell me or spin it to make it like duke is dope.
He is just known from the oversaturated talent raid era of majors in the late nineties to now.
That benefitted from not really being dope enough, but connected to larger drawing artist.
Duke Is the David otunga of rap.
Without the Harvard degree and his simiiarity is the same Wack low skill workrate inring in the mic.
He just was signed and connected to a higher drawing real talent.
So, the pr seguewayed over past what it should.
To the point we still talking about him, for his wack rhymes skills and same old sammich content.

All i can say is rocko makes grown man music. That gift of gab mixtape is just on another level mental wise. It aint for everybody and that's cool. Everything isn't.

Self made was one of the most underatted albums to drop in the south in the past few years.

Like the nikka has tracks like meal, i cant wait, ambition, balance, squares out your circle, losses, odds that are just mentally somewhere else. Them shyts have actualy subject matter and substance to em that nikkaz can relate to and feel.

Its all good nikkaz dont feel him on here and i aint surprised. He a nikka that makes music for certain nikkaz and you gonna feel it if you can relate. The shyt is actually about something.

my man just said rocko is on another level "mental wise".:laff:

that "you gotta relate" argument doesnt work in this thread. most of the main dudes in here arguing are in the hood. ya man just aint got it aki.

Tdot.. till the death of me
It has alot to do with how he carries himself.

I kid you not, when he first hit mainstream with imma do me, he was on 106 and park.. and they asked him what made him start rapping, because he was always behind the scenes

this n!gga said "I just had so much swag built inside of me" :comeon: and from that point on, throught the interview everything he said was about swag.

so I think people just passed him off as that cliche atlanta rapper who raps about bullsh!t

first impressions is alot more powerful then people think.

he should of branded himself better then that because hes actually dope

thats true lets not act like he aint kicking real stuff. I can't relate to weed heads like wiz but i can damn sure relate to rocko. Cats like rock will never be main stream but have a steady following of real fans. I hold him to the same level as I do Bun-B.

edit: this nikka ain't worth a reply from me...fukkouttahere

I swear some of yall are illiterate, some of yall can't read between the lines...

It's cool I know everyone can't critically think.

It's cool bro. I can't relate to yall either. I'm a from a different era, despite being born in the 90's. Maybe it's just my suburban upbringing. Maybe it's just that I expect a song to have deep intellectual content, not be so vague. Personally I find the rap game to be saturated with insurmountable fallacies of drug lords / king pins, misrepresentations of blacks in a stereotypical lime light, and nonstop oppression / obsession to women. No I can't relate to selling drugs or mandatory working minimum wage jobs and "hustling" up to the top. No baby mommy, no kids, never been arrested ; still deal with subtle racism though...

With that said, the rap game hasn't progressed intellectually. If anything it took a drastic step backwards.

Idk how rap can go from thought provoking rappers like KRS-One, Slick Rick, Rakim etc...

To talent less, scribble in a note pad, don't even revise their own lyrics, probably failed English 101, rappers like Rocko.

Anyone with half brain can tell there's a huge difference between how true "real world renown" rapper like Rakim would dismantle a beat, song, hook vs Rocko. Even if he did supposedly "try", chances are he still wouldn't even remotely be in the ball park of a decent rapper.

Go ahead say some stupid sh*t again....

Man he says sh*t "real n1ggas" can relate too....Ok...

There we go in that stereotypical lime light again...I guess every black person / n1gga lives in hood, sales drugs, numerous baby mommies, unsteady dead end jobs, etc...

This guy will forever suck, because he lacks originality and makes the same repetitive comments like:

"gotta get my weight up""I'm number 1 like A1 sauce" I heard these line in about 3 or 4 "different" songs, on the gift of a gab...

The only thing that's somewhat worth listening to bubble gum rappers like Rocko, is the hook and beat; and surprisingly that's what most people only like...

I bet half the people in this thread, pro-Rocko, wouldn't even be on his dikk, if they were to listen to this disgruntled mess acapella...

Now this is music that real n1ggas can relate too: :krs:
