1. It seems like you know that the players would vote in favor to remove the salary cap. The players ain't dumb, they know whats best for them.

2. You said that the people at the upper half of the MLB are paid much better than those in the middle/ Well Duh:dahell: They are better, they deserve to get paid more. Like I said, is the middle class of the MLB complaining? Let me answer that for you. No they are not.
1. What part of "regulation is a necessity" are you not getting? It has nothing to do with players wanting a salary cap or not.

2. Just imagine an NBA team with the payroll of the Dodgers ($270m). Firstly, you need to bear in mind that an NBA roster size is less than half of an MLB roster size. In a league with no salary cap, and taking into consideration the current market values of players, you could conceivably set up a team of Westbrook, LeBron, Carmelo, AD, Duncan and have Kobe manage it. Even if you assume salaries will take a bump, the market will change around this as the relative values of the players will remain the same. The top MLB salary is maybe $30m a year. You can bet under different conditions the top NBA players would be seeing a lot more than that. That's when players not making that will start demanding more.

How is Kobe's plan working out for him and the Lakers? Kobe's contract and me first attitude have the Lakers struggling to sign other quality players to win anything. Duncan isn't helping the Spurs owners as much as he's helping the Spurs team (keyword) build a quality squad to compete for another championship.

Both Kobe and Duncan want the same thing. Ring #6. Only one of them is putting themselves in a position to win it.

Kobe wants #6 but not at the expense of his money so his plan is working fine...NO player should sacrifice earnings for rings....

So Kobe is playing for the money not to catch Jordan in rings? I would be willing to bet Kobe is playing for the rings more then anything else. He's a competitor he wants to win and be considered the greatest all time. As for the "no player should sacrifice earrings for rings" not everyone sees money as the ultimate objective in life. If I'm Duncan or Kobe and I've made $200+ million I would be ok taking less money. If they are smart with their money they've invested in wisely so that their current earnings should keep them and their great great grandkids finically safe. The average yearly return on having your money in mutual funds is 8%. Some years more some years less, but that's the average. Put $100 million away in a mutual fund and don't touch that for 10 years and the money you would have made off of interest would be :blessed:

He made $26 million in endorsements last year. $49.5 million total in a year. If I was him I'd be taking less from the Lakers to help my team and still be working my endorsements for more. That's just me though.

U got a dumb nikka mindset.

the mindset of a professional athlete is to win because they know the money will come along the way. Once you get money, you would start to look at other things in life because you are already financially stable for life. Money is guaranteed in the NBA. Rings are not
