Biden has been getting the blame for inflation, but if you were to do a full analysis of who is to blame, it would actually be Trump (and both Dems and Rethugs in Congress in 2020).
Trump signed into law 6 TRILLION in government spending for covid relief. Most of that money was for unemployment insurance, stimmy checks and money for businesses. That's an insane about of money that went straight to people. Straight to the market.
At the same time this spending is happening, demand is very low and supply is very high because the economy is mostly shut down. Production of supply may be non existent or low since there is no demand to chase after.
But then when the economy opens back up in late 2020 and 2021, demand goes through the roof without the supply to match it because everybody got money and want to spend, and a broken supply chain in 2021 makes things worse. You have the foundation for inflation.
Also, whenever money supply in the market outpaces or grows faster than economic growth, inflation is likely to occur.
Biden's 1.7 trillion American Rescue Act was necessary to save city and state governments. It was likely inflammatory, but even if this was never signed into law you would still have inflation.
Then you got companies who were purposely price gouging too.
