Take Care is how this past decade sounded like and it’s his most enduring project. 10 years later and that album still ranks highly on the charts.
That's not true. Drakes music sounds nothing like Cole, Kendrick, Migos or Future. The 4 biggest rappers of the decade outside of Drake. Who sounds like Drake?

He inspired more rnb than anything but the album isn't a classic if were being honest.

I'm a huge Stevie fan and Songs In The Key Of Life is amazing but isn't greater than Thriller...

Purple Rain is dope but "Prince" is my favorite Prince album...

At least they admitted Mike owned the 80s to a degree no one ever has before or after. But Thriller is the greatest album ever, ill take that to the grave...

Every list known to man is a trash list except to the one who created it. If the Coli ever got together and decided to make a top 100 list, everyone outside of this site would consider it trash. The point of these lists is to do what this thread is doing: arguing over past albums and their arbitrary placements. It works every time.

Remember all those top 50 rappers of all-time lists everyone had? All it did was wanna make people argue or make their own list. When someone dropped a top 300 porn star list, you had people saying "wait you left HER off?" It's fun as fukk because in the end, it makes people discuss artistic musical merits and you might even revisit some of those albums.

A top 500 list of just black music would be difficult as fukk to pull off, let alone a list that spans over 60 years of every genre.

There is some level of objectivity you're refusing to acknowledge. I think if you got 30 knowledgeable rap heads in a room (spanning commercial to underground, West Coast to East) you could get a solid respectable top 100 rap album list that most sensible people would go, :ehh:, fair enough.

Placing MBDTF above Illmatic takes the fukking cake though. It's just a trash list in every possible way. Ain't no "it's just their opinion" then their opinion is worth nothing.

I've personally felt like MBDTF has become very overrated as time goes on, but a lot of publications ranked that album as one of the best in any genre of this decade. I've never agreed with that assertion but that album gets all the love that College Dropout should have. That might be his 3rd or 4th best project.

I think you can get a bunch of rap heads in a room who could choose 100 rap albums, but where they get ranked is where the arguments would be. For example, I could suggest Life Is... Too $hort and everyone might agree, but someone might say it's #99 and another might say it's top 30. Can't please everyone.
