People aren't getting this. Roman is nothing like the silent badass people want him to be. When he and ambrose are together, he's always cutting up.

he's playing a character like everyone else in wrestling. Has nothing to do with personal life to be honest.

Look..ain't no doubt Roman is one of the worst main event champions (arguably the worst) in the history of the business, but he was solid last night. It was actually refreshing to see him in a different light.

WWE has him where he belongs, the mid card. That's where he should stay. Chasing the U.S. title.

Dont agree.

They are booking him great right now and the crowd is slowly getting back on his side. His rise will come more organic this way.
He got booed pretty hard against Rusev....lol. And it won't be any easier in NY at Summerslam. Especially with smarks liking Lana and thinking Rusev is underrated.

Different light? He tried the comedy before "Suffering succotash" and the beanstalk promos and it was comically bad...as bad as when Blandy did it in 04 after being the "legend killer" all year.

Agreed he is usually terrible to watch and a joke on the mic, but he was solid last night for a change :yeshrug:

Dude was never main event caliber, but was forced into that spot. Maybe he's not feeling the pressure anymore now that he's in the mid-card:yeshrug:

But he isnt very funny either. His timing is terrible and the only time he comes off as a star is when he is a silent killer.

If being the silent killer type could work for Sting, the goofiest of ALL babyfaces, why cant Roman do something similar?

:whoa: He was great on the mic. Looked comfortable for the first time in MONTHS. All the top dogs had a sense of humor. He's fine.

Yeah, actually does have everything to do with it. The greatest legends had gimmicks that were exaggerated versions of their true selves.

Even SCSA said this.

I knw you would say this. ROFL

Yeah, that's true in SOME cases. But it's not the rule. And it's not like Roman didn't play bad-ass character in the Shield.

I watched for the first time in a LONG time (8 months) last night and I couldn't get over all that damn talking that made me tune out in the first place. I'll read the results, but it's a chore to watch. Especially when the Olympics are on too.

Anyway, he seemed alright. "Lil drinky-drink" had me smiling because of Martin. He doesn't strike me as a star, but he has a "top of the card but not quite main event" feel to me. They really fukked him up by not letting him work on his skills against tougher, more talented wrestlers instead of Show and Kane. Still though, it's hard for me to not root for him when I see young to middle aged, white dudes booing him because the heads of the company like him (mainly for vanity reasons) and want to see him succeed.

He'll be ok as long as they don't force him down our throat. Maybe one day he will reach the heights that Vince expects of him but it will have to be done naturally. They cant make us like someone no matter how much they want us to. Regins was the rawest in the ring out of the Shield but he was pushed the hardest from the start. They should have built him up slow as shyt and make it him who turned on Rollins and Ambrose but that was to much like right apparently.
