Yea his hooks are definately his weak point. Only like 30 percent of the time they hit. For example big steppa is one of his best joints- perfect beat/bars and the hook is fire and the video is dope af as well. I def think Rome is a dope rapper and I check his shyt but what I really want is a follow up to Kiss the ring and his second real studio album.
I think this projects dope but the beats aren’t all that crazy and I probably gotta give it more spins. Everything sounds good the first week wen the new shyt is fresh but after a week sometimes u realize their isn’t much replay value. This one feels more like a ep with a lot of shorter tracks. If anything I think west should be curating the albums, without him sometimes we get mid eps musically. I honestly haven’t liked any of the albums conductors produced solely by himself for example: the boldy project & the Conway ep. Rome streetz should get the whole griselda producer lineup/alc to produce the album. Daringer was the only one who could produce full length albums by himself, he def made it happen in prime time. I think he could still do it with west curating shyt. But maybe that times passed but u never know… if Daringer gets back on that griselda 2016-2021 primetime shyt it’s a problem. Nothing romes dropped after kiss the ring has been on the level of that album, not even close. Kiss the ring was a real album and nothing he’s dropped since is remotely close to that level. That’s y I feel like the griselda artists should just focus on making the real official studio albums instead of a bunch of projects unless the shyt is straight heat(there was a time wen most of gxfrs projects were consistent and album quality/ back then you could get dope eps like plugs I met or dope tapes like blakktape and albums like flygod and Tana talk 3 etc but the quality’s gone down compared those days) . The only gxfr artists that really been dropping fire albums in the last couple years is westside gunn with still praying and conway with slant faced killah. Slant faced killah was really dope it just had 2-3 wack tracks on it. I think conways shyt gets extra hated on but he’s the best and no one in griselda is touching him. And Conway is not just the best in griselda he’s the best in the game with the vets like banks and pusha. Ima try to give this project more spins today, hopefully my mind changes and this project actually has real replay value.

Kiss The Ring is still Rome's best, to me. And I like the new project, but I'm not crazy about it yet.
I kinda feel like I might need to sit with it more.
