having a strong arm has no relation to throwing into triple coverage

it makes zero difference what your arm is, no qb can 'afford' to throw into triple coverage.

megatron is simply one of a kind nowadays. you do it to any other WR, it doesnt matter if your arm strength is :jawalrus: and :smugfavre: combined.

I didn't say that any QB can afford to throw into average; I said that some QBs can afford to do so more than others. When a QB with a very strong arm throws into double and triple coverage, the likelihood he will succeed is higher than a QB with a weaker arm like Romo. Stafford

This is and always has been Romo's biggest fault as a QB. After all these years in the league you would think he would know better but i long ago realized that this is what you are going to get from Tony.

dez is wide open here, if romo takes another split second and sees that dez is basically wide open... it could be an easy ass TD. it was still a 1st down completion, but here's another instance where Romo plays more like a young guy and not a vet who can read defenses

In 2006, 2007 that would've been a touch down. Back then they actually looked the throw the ball down the field. I honestly don't think his arm is that good anymore. You rarely see him throw deep balls.

it doesnt even have to be a long ball, 20 yard throw is enough here.

but that isnt the main issue here, its that he doesnt see the play develop, he sees that Niners send more rushers than usual and just goes with his first read. granted, it was a first down, again, so its not THAT huge of a deal, but still.

I expect a young guy like kaep miss an opportunity and just go to his first read like that for easy first down, not a vet guy who should be able to read defenses and see a dez mismatch pre-snap

So Romo is just stupid and can't make plays mentally. For all the pre snap reads and last minute audible calls he can't even throw it to the correct receiver when he's open.

yeah, to me, his problems seem mental. imo he just starts to panic like a young guy would and do some really dumb stuff.

his turnovers arent because of too much confidence or arrogance like cutler or stafford, a lot of them are him just trying to do too much or panic not knowing what to do. very uncharacteristic of a vet qb.

and Im not even talking about peyton-like reading of defense. he should be able to understand defenses at least as much as someone like alex smith does...but with romo every snap is adventure. and the bigger the pressure is, the worse he gets
