Yes because Michael was the NBA's cash cow for 10 years .. He was shoved down our throats more than Lebron x10. Stern loved him like a son and the media followed suit .. He came into the NBA at a perfect time, when marketting just began taking off .. And drafted to a perfect situation, playing with a top 5 player who had no ego and was perfectly willing to defer in Scottie Pippen for the duration of his prime.
That doesn't make him better than Kareem, magic, wilt, kobe, etc .. Just more glorified. Realistically, anyone within the top 10 is interchangeable as the goat. All the best at what they do.
But of course, the NBA will push who they want, thus the media writes what the NBA wants and those who know no better will follow suit.
