I think consistent harping the name technicality is not getting the point. DeSantis is mocking Black ppl whether Black ppl forget FBA ADOS or whatever. He is mocking a demographic which he knows will not vote for him anyway in any significant manner and the Republicans have stopped caring about the the Black vote or stopped even having to court the Black vote since Bush because they realize they can optimize WHITE voter turnout across socio economic strata and/or suppress the Black vote and WIN because of the strategy.

This disrespectful comment would have happened even if there was significant distinction by name among the different Black ethnic groups (Black Americans, Caribbean, Africans). He just uses as a medium to deliver his disrespect and even if name classification was not the medium his ultimate intention is to disrespect Black ppl, he would have used other mediums.

Elon is in the news right now due to his Twitter attempt acquisition debacle, his hard on liberals stance, his back to the office/factory stance. Therefore, DeSantis used him as a medium for the disrespect. Anybody who believes better name classification based on different experiences or proximity to chattel slavery would have negated or prevented DeSantis disrespecting Black people lacks critical thinking skills.

So if you know the latter (highlighted) which is in done in bad faith why just concentrate on the bad faith actor and his/her intentions instead of engaging in a tangent argument (which you can make a valid argument for).

But the second point is such a major one that damn near any ancillary discussion is not necessary and quite frankly takes away from the seriousness of DeSantis' (1) disrespect and (2) him acting on it once he seizes power.

It is not about only about trolling this is potentially the leading Republican candidate for the presidency and could win the next general elections. It is trolling because he is a FL governor but he has Presidential aspirations and ambitions and he has a shot but yet folks on here want to get on some name classification debate.

I don't consider people like Elon Africans at all. Same with some of these Indians, Arabs, and Asians who come into the continent and exploit the natives and act WORSE than European colonizers. like opening clubs and restaurants that REFUSE to allow Black Africans in there! Or opening up businesses and companies that treat Black Africans like literal slaves. They ain't African to me.
