Probably something to do with people pretending that she was the second coming of Christ because she was cute & could cut a snippy promo. In reality, she was a mediocre, dime a dozen blonde that had a stereotypical, dime a dozen mean girl gimmick.
Women are 80% of the overall consumer base. They can’t wait to waste money.

She's a super skinny small woman with no muscle tone physique whatsoever, who is just unbelievable in being able to go up against her larger peers.
And yes, I know Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan were small, but Alexa is just supremely not believable. Not to mention those guys are simply great at what they do.

That's some weird ass thinking. She's acting as if she was undefeated and not embarrassed her last two fights. The WWE wanted her more for her popularity than her fighting ability. If other media outlets weren't treating her like she was a unicorn, none of this would've happened. I don't like Alexa Bliss as a wrestler, but she's popular for various reasons. If Rousey beat Carmella, the complaints would be the same and amplified because she wasn't over enough as an opponent.
This is why I understand when pro wrestlers get annoyed with
MMA fighters invading their space. Expecting to come in and having creative control over anything with her character is insane. She couldn't work within the confines, however silly they were, of a job that she accepted. It's widely known the WWE makes a lot of manic decisions. Her popularity wasn't going to change that.
